What is a Class 4 MOT?

A Class 4 MOT is the standard annual roadworthiness test required by law for most private cars and light vehicles in the UK, from the vehicle’s third birthday onwards. Vehicles covered include:

Results are categorised as Dangerous, Major, Minor or Advisory. A Dangerous or Major failure means the vehicle cannot be used on the road until repaired.

What happens if my car fails?

A failed vehicle cannot be driven until faults are repaired, except to travel directly to a pre-arranged repair appointment. We can carry out the required work at our Cheltenham garage and retest. If this happens within 10 working days, a reduced retest fee may apply.
